Little Free Library Boxes

EVENT: Saturday, June 30 from 9:30am–4:00pm

We are joining the Little Free Library movement, with its mission of promoting the love of reading and a sense of community through free book exchanges. People who saw our sample boxes at the Mar Vista Farmers Market loved them!

Participate in our day-long arts event—a joint project with the Joyful Activists and Foster the Future—to build and decorate a number of these Little Free Library boxes. Everyone is welcome, including children five and up. Use a hammer and nails, slather on the primer, or use paints and varnishes to decorate the boxes once they are built. Donations of supplies are welcome (scrap wood and repurposed items). Foster the Future's website has a list of specific supplies needed, and other fun details.

Check in at 9:30am, work begins at 10:00am, closing ceremony at 4:00pm. Don't worry if you can't make it for the whole day, join us when you can.

RSVP to http://fosterthefuture.com/RSVP.html and you will receive a confirmation email with more information.

There will be food provided by Whole Foods Market Venice and the Dragon Pizza Oven.

Live music, djs, and lots of fun.

You are welcome to help install the little library boxes the following day (7/1).

These library boxes in yards and on streets will enable you to share books and conversation with neighbors and friends for years to come.

To learn more, visit Little Free Library website http://www.littlefreelibrary.org/

Please bring sunscreen, a hat, reusable water bottle, and tools, if you have them.

Also, please bring a buck and a book to donate.
