Transition Training, LA Style

EVENT: Saturday November 5, 2011 from 8:00am to 5:00pm

Curious about the Transition movement? Wish there was a Transition group in your local neighborhood? Seeking to build greater resilience in your part of L.A., better/faster/quicker? Here’s an event to get you started!

Join Transition Los Angeles for “Planting the Seeds for a New Community Consciousness.” Discover how to help transform your local neighborhood. It is our Los Angeles version of Transition leadership training.

The day will introduce The Problems, but will quickly dive into the Transition approach – how we do what we do, and how you can to. The many facets of the day include experiential and interactive sections, with an emphasis on guidance for prospective leaders. If you are wondering how to get started, here is your launching place.

The day will be rich with examples (and issues) from right here in L.A. You’ll learn about the action that is already unfolding, as well as our plans for Transition action in the immediate future. You’ll meet leaders who are already involved in the Transition Los Angeles City Hub and hear how we’re filtering these ideas into neighborhoods across the greater L.A. area. (You can help!)

Please plan your day so that you can attend the entire event because information is cumulative.

Cost: $40, includes a vegetarian salad buffet lunch
Advance registration required.

Site: Community Hall of Holy Nativity Church,
6700 W. 83rd, Westchester (LA 90045, near LAX airport)

There is prerequisite reading.
Full information about the day is at www.TransitionLA.org /events/LAO_info.htm
