Macrobiotics Weekend September 2011


Special Programs with David Briscoe regarding food and its direct relationship to your health

David Briscoe is one of the most experienced macrobiotic teachers and counselors in the world today. Immersed in macrobiotics since 1972, he has expertise in every facet, including personal practice, teaching, counseling and cooking. He has apprenticed with the late macrobiotic masters, Norboru Muramoto and Herman Ahaira and was one of the first to be certified by Michio Kushi. He is co-founder of education institutes, Macrobiotics America and Macrobiotics Global.

How to see your health: Techniques not found in books

After 35 years of macrobiotic counseling, David has developed many of his own unique techniques of health assessment. He'll be sharing some of the most useful and practical ones in this session. Learn to look at your hands, nose, and skin to see what your body is telling you.

Adjusting our cooking for each season is an essential part of healthy macrobiotic cooking. In this class you’ll learn how this can be done for the fall. We’ll make a complete meal based on macrobiotic, vegan and gluten-free principles.

MENU:
Miso Soup with Succulent Daikon
Mellow Millet and Cauliflower
Red Beans with Creamy Kabocha
Fresh Salad with Herbed Tofu and Avocado
Apple-Apricot Compote
(Gluten-free alternatives will be available.)

At the end of the day, stay to eat the meal you have prepared or take it home with you.

$45 per workshop (includes cost of ingredients)
