Eco-Movie Night - February 2011

A Convenient Truth
Urban Solutions from Curitiba, Brazil

EVENT: Saturday, February 12 at 7:00pm

See how Curitiba, Brazil was transformed into a model green city through innovations in transportation, affordable housing, urban parks and recycling. Progressive mayors, city planners and designers determined that the city should revolve around people, not cars. From the cost-effective yet expansive bus system (with the notable bus station tubes) to the pedestrian-only walkways, the documentary highlights how effective, people-friendly and sustainable changes can be made with minimal or no cost. This is an informative, inspirational documentary aimed at sharing ideas to provoke environment-friendly and cost-effective changes in cities worldwide. (2007)

To view the trailer visit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swQTTG3NcYY

The documentary will be followed by community discussion.

Free event. Donations welcome.
