Introduction to Transition

EVENT: Saturday, April 17 from 4:00 to 6:00pm

What is the Transition Initiative? The transition from our current, wasteful, polluting and energy-intensive way of life, to one that uses energy and resources in ways that will enable us and future generations to enjoy a good standard of living in a lower energy context, is vital. Learn how you can manage this transition by bring the head, heart and hands of our community together.

This introduction will include lessons from Cuba (screening of The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil) and the Transition Network in UK/Europe, as well as looking at how we are adapting the model for Los Angeles. There will be time for questions and for exploring how you can get involved and bring the Transition Initiative to your neighborhood. Check out what's happening at the Learning Garden at Venice High School, the Community Garden at Holy Nativity church in Westchester, our local Time Bank... Support your local farmers' market. All of our efforts add up!

Free event. Donations appreciated.
