A Time Bank is a community of people who support each other. For every hour you help another member, you earn a Time Dollar. Then you can use that Time Dollar to have a neighbor help you. You can get help with gardening, walking your dog, running errands, learning to play an instrument, or using your computer. There's no minimum or maximum time commitment. It's like bartering time, but you don't have to trade directly with the person who helps you.
Apply online to the Culver City/Mar Vista/Palms (Venice) Time Bank. Once you've been accepted (most people are), you will receive an email link to build your time bank profile (think Craigslist meets Facebook). From there, you will begin listing the services and exchanging time with others. Check the website for the date of the next monthly orientation, which is often followed by a community potluck meal, if you're interested.
